Silk crepe de chine, or crepe of China roughly translated from French, is an extremely useful silk.
Finding its way into making shirts and blouses and even bridal ware to name but a few.
Many craft projects can benefit from this wonderful fabric, including decor for the home etc.
It has a wonderful glossy look and lovely texture.
It is very lightweight and drapes beautifully.
Crepe de chine is made with tightly twisted weft yarns, or filling, running in reverse directions from left to right.
