The chemicals needed to create devore paste for the devore or 'burn-out' technique on mixed fibre fabrics.
The paste is applied to a fabric that has a high content of cellulose fibre (cotton, linen, viscose) on a non-cellulose (silk or synthetic) structure.
Once dry the fabric is heated with a dry iron - the cellulose fibre chars and can be rubbed away revealing the bare structure of the synthetic or silk threads.
Particularly effective on Silk/Viscose Velvet (88% Viscose/12% Silk)
There are quite a few fabrics that are sold as Devore fabrics because the structure is ideal for this process, but if a fabric has a high content of cellulose it could be worth experimenting. Sometimes the devore technique will reveal the non-cellulose threads as a warp thread only - maybe interesting?!
Includes everything to make 500g of devore paste plus safety gloves and mask.
