Polyprint Imprint Sheets

This fine polystyrene sheet holds the impression of marks made into it to create a print or rubbing block.

Very easy to use, this is regularly presented as a simple-to-make print block for children, but in fact it has great creative potential for everyone!   

The prints are not as crisp or hard-edged as other relief-printing techniques, but much more organic results are achieved.

• Start by impressing marks into the surface.   This can be done with pens or pencils to make deep drawn marks, or by pressing hard objects into it.   
• To print, ink up the plate using a roller, a sponge or dabber, or by pressing into a Gel Press Plate.   Different methods of inking up will give different results.
• Lay a sheet of paper* over the top and smooth down firmly.   You may choose to use a roller for this.
• Lift off the paper to reveal your print!

TIP:   As well as using the indented Polyprint for printing, try taking rubbings from it using pencils, pastels, fabric crayons etc etc!
