Used for the 'Serti' or outlining technique of silk painting. The outline (clear gutta or coloured outliner) is piped onto the silk, before painting, as a barrier to the spread of the silk colour. When the outliner is dry the Javana Silk colour is applied.
Once the work is finished and dried it is then fixed using the heat of an iron. The piece of work is washed to remove the outliner. If a clear Gutta has been used the resist will wash out to reveal the original colour of the silk. If a coloured outliner has been used the resist part of the outliner will be washed out but leaving behind the coloured line.
The coloured outliners can be used to add additional marks & embellishments to the finished work.
The 20ml outliner is presented in a squeezable tube with a long fine nozzle. Line width can be altered by attaching a nozzle nib.
The 50ml jar can be applied with a paintbrush, or decanted into a nozzle bottle and used with a fineliner tip for absolute precision.
