Used for the 'Serti' or outlining technique of silk painting. The outline is piped onto the silk before painting, as a barrier to the spread of the silk colour. When the outliner is dry the iron-fixed silk paint colour is applied.
Once the work is finished and dried it is then fixed using the heat of an iron and the piece of work is washed to remove the outliner. When a coloured outliner has been used the resist part of the outliner will be washed out but leaving the coloured line behind
The coloured outliners can be used to add additional marks & embellishments to the finished work.
The outliner can be applied with a paintbrush, or decanted into a nozzle bottleand used with a fineliner tip for absolute precision.
