Who doesn’t love pearly and metallic paint?   Use it as a detail to add a ‘pop’ or add broad strokes for shiny, lustrous impact!

High quality metallic & pearl paints (eg Lumiere) are made with pearl pigments, generally derived from mica which sparkles as light catches it, which are mixed into a binder to create a pearly paint.

PearlEx Pearl Pigments are real mica-based powdered pigments.   They can be mixed into an almost endless list of binders to make virtually any sort of pearly paint you would like.   You can make a pearly paint tailored to your requirements by mixing them into oils, acrylics, gum arabic (the binder for watercolours), varnishes, glues, alcohol inks, embossing powders, resins etc etc etc…….

You are also completely in control of how strong the pearl colour will be.   A little powder in a lot of binder will add a subtle shimmer – more powder into small quantity of binder will create a strong pearly effect!

By using a PearlEx Pigment and mixing it with different binders you can make paints suitable for different surfaces that will all match!

PearlEx Pigments will not tarnish or fade.

For fabrics, mix them into fabric paint extender, soft acrylics, acrylic wax; or combine with fabric paints to have pearl & colour!

As with all artists' pigments, some are relatively easy to source/process/produce and so are cheaper than others that may be more rare or more costly to produce.   The pricing series reflects this.
