These hot-water dyes are highly effective on protein-based fibres eg silk, wool, mohair, feathers, nylon etc.

Acid Dye achieves bright, strong colours while retaining the soft handle of the fabric - a real advantage over iron-fixed silk paints.

Requires the addition of an acidic element (eg vinegar) and the application of heat:

• For immersion dyeing - in a dye-bath on the stove at 85deg C
• For painted fabric - steaming
• For small pieces of fabric - microwave.
