Permanent Dyeset Concentrate was produced by Jacquard as a fixative for Jacquard Green Label Silk Colors for situations when steam-fixing is not practical.

Green Label Silk Colors are based on a form of reactive dyes so Permanent Dyeset Concentrate can be used on other reactive dyes (eg procion) as a secondary fixative.

Permanent Dyeset Concentrate holds more of the dye (that could be lost in the rinsing stage) onto the fabric for more intense colour.

STEP 1 Green Label Colors or reactive dyes* should be applied as usual.
STEP 2 Immerse the fabric into Permanent Dyeset fixative bath as instructed below.
STEP 3 Rinse as normal with detergent (Metapex or Synthrapol**) in the final rinse

*In the case of procion mx, salt/urea and soda ash should be still be used in the process.
** Metapex or Synthrapol are particularly good at carrying away any excess dye that has not been fixed onto the fabric and therefore preventing back-staining.

Permanent Dyeset Concentrate Instructions

• To prepare the fixative bath for Jacquard Green Label Silk Colors, add 40ml Permanent Dyeset Concentrate per 5litres cold tap water.
• Stir well.
• Prepare just enough to completely cover the fabric while allowing it room to move freely. Immerse the fabric in the fixative bath and stir for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
• Wash the fabric in cold water and detergent, rinse and allow it to dry.
• The fabric is now washfast and dry-cleanable.
